We have been studying poetry the last few weeks....it's been really fun!
A classroom favorite has always been "The Highwayman" and "The Cremation of Sam McGee". I was lucky enough to find this video of the latter on youtube:
Students have also begun their eportfolios. It is great to see my students SO excited about their page and writing! So far so good!

As a class, we were working on making our writing more descriptive. So, today we used our five senses to describe different things.
We started with dividing our paper into four (for each sense with one on the back) and then began! Please check out our videos below!

The adventure has begun! I have invited my students to be a "friend" of my blog and online portfolio. It is pretty exciting. They seem to like the layout and are excited about creating their own page and editing it to make it "their own". I am excited to see what they come up with.
The only trouble we are facing is that our school isn't a Google School. So students have to create their own gmail accounts....that has been a little road block, but most seem to figure it out :)
This week in class, I hope to show students how to create a blog on Blogger as well as setting the preferences to private...
Whooo!! Exciting!

I begin this blog about my lovely 2011-2012 class. We are on an adventure together this year. We are trying out Google Docs and other apps to create our "electronic portfolios". They know I have never done this, but we are in it together! Sooo....here I am creating this blog to share with my students, parents, colleagues, etc to capture this adventure.
So, here we go!
